Controlled Environment Rooms.

Description.
The environmental rooms provide an environment in which temperature and humidity are accurately measured and controlled. The temperature and humidity are maintained within fine limits by means of circulating the air past a refrigeration coil and electric heater battery located in a plenum chamber to the rear of the room. Centrifugal fan units mounted on top of the room create the air movement. The conditioned air is returned to the room via a louvered suspended ceiling. Humidity control is achieved using ultrasonic humidifiers, which introduce vapour to the airflow. The use of PID controllers and modern electronic control systems allow control tolerances of better than +/- 0.2º C with a temperature uniformity of +/- 0.3º C and humidity control of +/- 3%. Rooms can be supplied to operate at fixed temperatures between –18º C and +60º C with humidity levels of 10% to 95%. Variable parameter rooms are available which allow the user to adjust humidity and temperatures values within a range of 10º C to 30º C. Bespoke rooms for specific applications are also available. The rooms are available in a number of standard module sizes however panels can be manufactured to most sizes to meet our customer’s individual requirement.

Room Construction.
The environmental rooms are constructed from modular insulated panels. The panels are connected together by means of "foamed in" cam locking devices. This method of modular construction allows for the rooms to be dismantled and reassembled elsewhere if required. The panels for the walls and ceilings are manufactured from food grade coated steel sheets with an 80mm thick injected polyurethane insulation. The wall and ceiling panels are finished in white (RAL 9002). Floor panels are constructed in the same manner as the walls but using a 1mm thick Alu -Zinc steel sheet skin which can be covered with a floor covering to suit individual requirements. The injected polyurethane foam has the following specification: Density +40 kg/m³ with density of core greater than 34 kg/ m³ K value: 0.260W/m²k.

Classification fire reaction / Control Panel and data logging.
NBN S-21.023 Foam A4 Panel A1 - NFP S-92-507 Foam M4 Panel M2 – DIN 4102-1 Foam B3 - BS476-7 Panel class 1, All components are CFC Free. Located near to the front of the room, is the control panel, providing a visual and audio alarm, As well as the digital displays, the control panel houses a dual chart recorder, providing round the clock recording of temperature and humidity. All user controls are located behind a secure Perspex cover to prevent un authorised access. Optional low oxygen level alarm is also available.
Additional software option that allows full data logging and data display in the form of graphs and tables using a laptop computer is available.
